"Black" repellent bracelet for strong protection

The repellent bracelet can be easily clipped around the wrist or ankle. Anything can be done with the bracelet, the repellent filling is not in contact with the skin and the bracelet is waterproof. The refills do not contain DEET, but only plant extracts and essential oils that provide the ultimate protection against mosquitoes.

Inside the bracelet there is a writing area where you can write your phone number.

Are the bracelets also functional against ticks?

PARA'KITO bracelets contain active substances that repel ticks.

However, we deliberately do not make this claim for our products, as it is minimally misleading from our point of view and we will explain why immediately.

• Ticks work differently than mosquitoes and are sensitive to vibrations and other factors.
• If you wear the bracelet on one limb (for example, on your leg), the bracelet will not prevent the tick from crawling on another limb or falling on you, for example, behind your neck.

Clinical effectiveness against ticks is tested by applying the active substance to the site (making a line - for example, a circle around the arm, ankle) and testing whether or not the tick will climb over it. If the tick does not cross it, then the active substance is considered to be active.

For this reason, we consider claims made by other manufacturers to be misleading and deceptive and do not wish to act in this way.

Prevention (always) comes first

The easiest protection against ticks is good preparation for being outdoors. Long-sleeved, long-legged clothing, ideally of a lighter colour, is recommended. It is also advisable to apply some suitable repellent to the areas at risk. When you come back from your walk, it is a good idea to take a shower and then check each other out. We must pay particular attention to children.

And what if I find a tick attached?

It is good not to panic. This is common. But it is important to follow the correct procedure for its removal. The best procedure is to disinfect the area where the tick is attached and leave the disinfectant on for three to five minutes. Then we must use tweezers or special forceps to grasp the tick as close to the skin as possible and pull it out in a wiggling motion.

The former widespread advice to turn the tick clockwise or anticlockwise is nonsense. The tick has no threads on its fangs. Nor is it advisable to smother the tick with oil or the like. On the contrary, it can increase the risk.

Use biocides in a safe way. Always read the label and product information before use.
